Decided to take the MRT today as I can't use my car on Wednesdays. It was raining a bit so it was a little harder than usual to commute. Thank goodness for the MRT. Otherwise, with the way buses crawl in the metro, you'd be spending a good part of your day stuck in traffic.
Apparently, lots of people like the MRT as they insist on packing themselves like sardines. It has gotten to the point that people are so eager to get on the MRT that they won't let people get off.
Take this morning. Two men nearly came to blows because a man boarded the MRT and promptly blocked the door so that nobody could get out. One man took it upon himself to force his way through. This resulted in the following exchange:
Man blocking door: "'Wag kang manunulak!" (Don't push me!)
Man getting off: "Pa'no ko lalabas, eh, nakaharang ka diyan?!?" (How am I supposed to get off?!?)
Man blocking door: "Eh, di lumabas ka!" (By stepping off!)
Man getting off: "Pa'no nga ako lalabas eh nakaharang ka nga diyan?!?" (How am I supposed to get off when you're blocking the door?!?)
Man blocking door: "Gago ka pala, eh!" (You're an idiot!)
Ah, Manila. You gotta love how those in the wrong are the ones who feel slighted.
